Adaptation

At Wonderspace, we view adaptation period as a crucial phase that shapes a child's future attendance and overall well being. Our goal is to foster a safe and respectful environment where each child can naturally integrate at their own pace.
We take this process seriously, dedicating time and a personalized approach to meet the unique needs of every child.

What to Expect During Adaptation
A child may react calmly at times during the adaptation, but it's still common for them to cry at future goodbyes.
In the second year, some struggles may reappear, impacting morning drop-offs, and to ease this transition, we provide personalized 1:1 introductions with a caregiver, allowing the child to stay in a familiar setting.
Typically, adaptation lasts 3-4 weeks, but it can take up to 3 months depending on the child's previous social experiences and the parent's mindset.
Important Role of Parents
If something about the environment or caregivers doesn't seem right to you, or you're not convinced that it's time for a group, the child will sense it and react. Children are very sensitive to their surroundings often precisely through you.
Your attitude is also their attitude.
In the first days, we recommend more intensive visits ideally daily or at least every other day.
Adaptation can unexpectedly extend due to illness, for example, and that's completely normal.
There are many factors that affect it and we're here to sensitively evaluate them together with you.
Psychological Aspects of Adaptation
We know that separation from parents can be challenging for a child, so we try to build trust gradually, sensitively and with respect for their pace. We also realize that kindness doesn't mean unlimited compassion. We offer children clear boundaries that help them feel safe and navigate the new environment.
